National Openly Ugly-Cry Day
My ask for 2020:
Can we all come together and openly ugly-cry for:
- Our losses (love-ones, health, jobs, homes, friendships, connectedness, etc…) due to Covid;
- The realities (a pandemic does not stop the systematic purging of black bodies or override, heartless souls cloaked in privileged-whiteness);
- The new normal;
- Lessons learned and not yet learned;
- Not being better…to…and for…each other;
- An unfortunate America, soon to be inherited by our children in these “Un-United States”;
- Etc…?
Can we all come together and openly ugly-cry?
My prayer is that “Open Ugly-Cry Day” will not be observed on November 4, 2020. The Hope for that day and the next, we will rejoice and all come together to begin to Heal and Unite these “Un-United States” and all of its occupants.
Can we all come together and openly ugly-cry…United?
Or will we continue to ugly-cry in the dark, alone (as if it’s working)?
